Adam and Eve were NEVER perfect.
by gaiagirl injw's frequently say that the first human couple were "perfect" and would have lived forever until they gave up perfection by their disobedience.. however, closer reading of the genesis account shows that they were never perfect, instead, they were designed to grow old and die, just like the rest of the animals.
jehovah has adam name all the animals, but finds that none of the animals is suitable as a companion (wonder how this was determined)?.
jehovah clones a companion for adam, and tells them to not eat the fruit of a certain tree, or they will die "in that very day".

ok 2057...you are really starting to mess with my head...
Are you saying that Jesus is Michael? And Michael is also God?
Is this some kind of unique Trinity teaching?

Yes 2057, but not because of what you said...
** She was named Eve AFTER sin, which led to the impregnation (EVE was thoroughly deceived*), Hence Seed of Satan, in part (Gen3:15).
Gen 3 : 20 Adam c named his wife Eve, d because she would become the mother of all the living.
Doesn't sound like too much of a punishment to me. Actually sounds like an honour.

20571 How do you get that eve was named after this? (Gen 3:15 does not say it)
I have another question if anyone is interested.....
Gen 3: 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
If no man has ever seen God.....Who is it that is walking in the garden in the cool of the day? Clearly this must show us that Genesis is not literal or.....that this is not THE GOD but an imposter.

To be perfect, one must be tested and found complete.
So do you think the test was inevitable for them? So what was the end result? Were they found complete before they died? Or is it that we can never be perfect?
I know.....a million and one questions.....does anyone really know the answer?
Rocky_Girl Interesting idea...I am mulling it over.....

Eve: Failing the Single Test She Had
by simon17 inits amazing how things seemed logical when you heard them.
consider the case of eve.
we always here how truly terrible a sin (most likely the unforgivable sin) because she was perfect and given one command.

So she failed the test, and was told that if she did it she would die.(which she didn't). In reality she was going to die anyway because they hadn't yet eaten of the tree of life. So what was the whole point of the test?

I just found this old thread and gaiagirl summed up my current thoughts/questions very well.
I am curious to see other peoples take on the implications of this with relation to the NT and Jesus sacrifice for us.
Regard;ess of whether you think that Adam and Eve were literal or not, do you think that it changes the purpose of Jesus death? And what do you think the real reason for his death might be?

Awesome quote from the Watchtower!
by TimothyT ini found this awesome quote from the book captives of a concept:.
beware of "organization.
it is wholly unnecessary.

nice find TimothyT...... shame they didn't stick with that idea....although I think it is human nature to turn things into some sort of organization....and once an organization begins its primary goal is to sustain itself..all other motives go out the window.

Is Rev 5:11-14 Worship or Obeisance?
by JCISGOD98 ini asked a jw last week the following question, "is revelation 5:11-14 a worship act to the lamb or an act of obeisance?.
revelation 5:11-14 nwt states and i saw, and i heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: the lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.
because it's an act of worship and it is not allow in your kingdom hall.
